Improved Services

Clients with mental health issues and AOD concerns (Dual Diagnosis)

CARE is undertaking a major capacity building project for the organisation. Through this work, we aim to improve our services for dual diagnosis clients - those who experience difficulties with mental health as well as substance use issues.

This work includes upskilling our staff and volunteers, increasing our connections with mental health services, and letting the community know more about what supports we can offer.

For more information about this project, please email the Dual Diagnosis Project Coordinator

Amphetamine Type Stimulants (ATS)

CARE is looking at how we can better work with those clients who use amphetamine type stimulants - how we can attract them into treatment, provide best-practice support, and work with them to reduce the harms associated with their use of these substances.

Once again, this includes increasing the skills of our specialist staff and working with the community to increase awareness of our services.

We will also be able to offer specific training to other professionals who support ATS using clients.

In collaboration with QADREC (Queensland Alcohol & Drug Research and Education Centre, part of UQ), we are undertaking a research project to help increase the knowledge of our sector around issues specific to users of ATS.

For more information about this project, please email the ATS Project Coordinator.

Evaluation Services

CARE regularly undertakes evaluations of the organisation's programs and services, providing a professional, arm's length look at how the programs meet their funding objectives, what is done well and what can be improved.

These services can also be extended to external bodies. For more information about evaluation, please contact the CARE Director.
