Helping families breakthrough

Sep 24 2018, 10:00am AEST

Drug ARM recently welcomed funding from the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women to roll out a new specialist alcohol and other drug service for families across Queensland.

Breakthrough for Families Queensland will be an ongoing series of free public information sessions for family members of people who are using alcohol or other drugs.

The sessions will provide families with accurate information, equip them with the skills and knowledge to navigate the treatment system and address barriers to seeking help.

The program will also include opportunities to connect family members to support workers and other social services.

Drug ARM will be delivering the new program in Mackay, Darling Downs (Toowoomba), West Moreton (Ipswich) and South West (Roma & Charleville).

Participation in the program is voluntary and the sessions will aim to be culturally respectful, accessible and inclusive.
