About the Program
The Community and Family Support Service is a twelve week counselling program for people who want help to address issues related to their own, or another person’s, alcohol or other drug use. Our team of specialists provide non-judgemental and confidential support through weekly counselling sessions where we work with each person to identify their goals, and provide practical solutions to make progress towards them.

The Program
The Community and Family Support Services (CAFSS) is a structured brief intervention package for individuals and their significant others in addressing alcohol and other drug use and related issues. Session delivery can be by phone, VOIP (ie Skype) or face to face either in the office or in the community. We ask that volunteers in the CAFSS program commit to one day a week over six months. This is to ensure continuity of care for our clients. From experience we have found student on placement will often require two or more days a week to complete their required placement hours. Please consider how many days you may require when providing your availability.
